A Conversation with William Porter

William “Bill” Porter, a native Louisvillian, is a legend in American automobile design, sparked some of the world’s hottest automobile trends of the 60’s and 70’s and played a seminal role in the history of American muscle car design. Porter tells how the unique influences of his Kentucky upbringing affected his work and love of design. He talks about his teachers at the University of Louisville Art department and his childhood art classes where at the age of 7 he was already drawing fighter planes.
